Howdy, Jed.  Welcome to the posse! ;D

Sounds like you have an interesting 1876. :)   Got any documentation on the RR connection?  That would be too cool! :)

Put my name in.  I've had a Chaparral 28" 76 in 40-60 for about a year and a half.  Thanks for the referral from Sassnet.  Still looking for reloading data for smokless.

Recently got a new Chaparral 1876 NWMP model. It's my first "old" lever action. Got some Jamison brass and loaded up some 300 grain lead over 25.0 AA5744. Didn't shoot for accuracy as the wind was howling but it was a blast. Surprising amount of smoke. Working on converting some Win 348 brass with tools on hand and that's fun....not!!  :'( Now have M92 on order and am looking for a single action revolver. As contagious as any other form of gun fun.  ;D

Welcome obwhan - and may the force be with you. ;)  Sorry, couldn't help it! ;D

Sounds like you had an interesting experience.  Did you get to see any of the factory and the manufacturing?

Well, pardners, I just joined the club.  Monday after next, I get to take home a Chaparral 1876 rifle with the 28" barrel in .45-75.  At 10.3 pounds, unloaded, and over 11, loaded, it will be give me a good workout deer hunting.

All ready to start casting and loading up.  Just got a RCBS 45-325-FN-U mold, some Jamison brass, and some cans of the black.

Thanks Grizzely Yes got to see most of it. As it is in Italy they don't work fast, hard or steady. I did get to pick my serial # and the rifle. looked at a lot of rifles before I picked this one.

Add me to the list.  Cimarron F. A. 28' barrel standard rifle in .45-75 WCF.  It came in last Thursday the 17th.  Fit and finish are very good.  Wood is very very good.  I hope to have it out to the range soon.  This forum has been very helpfull in answering questions about the '76 and the .45-75 chambering.  This is my first gun purchas since I can't remember when.

Are there anybody out there who is doing anything?  I am used to reading about the exploits of all on this site.  I will admot that i have been somewhat negligent in reporting my endeavors but do not think that this is with all of us.

I know what you mean.  I look forward to reading about what's going on, but no one seems to be doing much of anything or they're too busy.  I'm in the same boat, because nothing much is going on with me either.  I've been selling off some of my duplicate caliber Winchester molds and tools in various '76 calibers, but that's about it.

Buck:
Thisnice weather that we are now having after damn near 5 inches of rain here in the FLathead probably is giving some folks the incentive to do more than just look out the window and there is field work now and haying and whatnot so at least here I got an idea that shooting is on the back burner for awhile. 8)
