Does anyone remember that derringer on a spring loaded mechanism that Jim West had up his sleeve on the Wild, Wild West TV show? One of those outfits would be fun to make or did anyone ever manufacture one of those? Artemus Gordon had so many great inventions.

I remember a year ago or more that someone posted a link to an ooutfit that was making them. Don't remember the name though.

The one in the TV show was made for the TV show.  As I recall, the general consensus was that derringers were held in place with sleeve garters and "dropped" into the palm.

I'll check the library on this.  I don't recall where I read it.

I don't know if they were ever manufactured in bulk but Frank Sinatra had one. He wore it because he did not have a concealed carry permit and where ever he was it was fine for open carry.
