I hate that I will not get the chance to meet him face to face. I have grown very fond of him from the time that we have shared together online. Everytime that I put my hat on I'll be thinking of him from now on.
Has there been any more news about what happened?

Always a warm smile, warm handshake and encouraging comments. A few ribald jokes now and then, but that was TT.
I am still trying to figure out how he used to fit into those darned midgets he used to race

Yea - motorsports. One of his other passions. Watching the Indy this weekend won't be the same.
Don always figured the bumps & bruises he came home with after these races were the only reason Judith didn't add a few more to his noggin for good measure.
And how many men do you know that could wear
PINK
at those Saturday night races with such grace & flair!
I'll miss the stories almost as much as I'll miss the man. What a life he lead. And what life he added to mine.

Got to meet Levi Nighthawk yesterday at EoT.
He gave Camille, Stump, Miz Annie and myself a TT pin to wear in rememberance. QT Kate, I'm gonna get one for you too.
I had worn my Gray Sash so that a part of TT was with me.
You will not be forgotten my friend.

This is on our CASS Australia site
I thought you all might like to see it.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO OUR Single Action Shooters. From Judith Newell.
I want you to know how touched I’ve been by your expressions of affection and regard shown to my dearest husband Don, Texas Tall. I knew Don was very loved and special to me and our family but it is also comforting to know that so many of you were fond of him and that he was appreciated and respected.
I do not know where to begin to thank all those who came to his funeral, sent cards, flowers, telephoned or spoke so well of him on the chat line. I particularly would like to thank Dennis (Dakota Dan) and Pam for all their help as well as Peter (MajorPayne D’Arse), Terry (HoodooBrown) and Basil (BuscoBaz). Also Jenny (Lonesome Dove) for preparing the lovely tribute to Don that went into the last issue.
Texas Tall loved the Cowboy Action and all that was connected with it. As you know he was competitive but also enjoyed the success of others, particularly the young shooters. He loved the comradeship, the dressing up and the smell of black powder. His photograph album was one of his treasures and he looked through it constantly and lived the good times over and over again. You would be surprised at the number of people he has shown it to and given them an idea of what fun he had and how keen you all are.
I miss my Don more than I could ever express and am struggling to face the future without him, his personality, wit and warmth but I am comforted by knowing that when he died we were happy together, he was enjoying our family and his shooting and all the friends that he made over the years.
Please accept my sincerest thanks through this note as I am unable to reply to all of you personally. I apologise for the delay but it is very upsetting to talk of Don in the past.
I was completely overwhelmed by your kindness and wish all of you the very best for the future.
Sincerely
Judith Newell
