Oh yeah I was looking through the local Home stores sale bill and somthing else to consider is to back it with a rustic pine or Knotty pine Paneling,.......just route a 3/8" recess in the back and lay it in with glue & nails I've done this with shelves and it looks real good,....

Sgt Chapman

Ok
It took awhile as I had several side trips to Oregon to slow me down.  This is what I ended up with.  The only thing remaining is to hang it up in the eclectic den.

Thanks alot Slim
It'll hold six.  The two by them selves to the right are my non cowboy guns.  The one with the scope used to be my grandfather's, and is still dead accurate.  The one with the long barrel was my fathers bolt action 20 guage shotgun from Sears Roebuck.  It is inoperable as my mom allowed the bolt to rust solid, and I can't find parts.

Thanks Sarge
The answer is extremely large two screw picture hangers on the main uprights, and two industrial sized mollies in the wall.
I'll post a picture once it's up.

Thanks Litl Rooster
The worst part was cutting the two major uprights after the two oak 1x12s were glued together.  Sure made me wish I had a band saw instead of a jig saw!!!
