Newbie Question???

..well i just picked up a Winchester 1897 (E)model 6 didgit serial no..
does anyone have a clue when it was Made??around what year??
it uptains about 50% percent original blueing,good tight action
30 icnh full choke barrel,and if i wanted to sale the shotgun what
should i ask for the firearm??i dont have a clue,thanks for any info

You can list part of the serial with three of the last didgets as X's. Those of us with Blue Books should be able to give you a ballpark on the DOM.................Buck

There's a web site that will give you the year made from the serial number. Just do a search from Yahoo and it will pop up.
