Actually, I am torn as Colt just announced the re-release of the etched frame Colt Frontier in 44-40.  Undecided  I want both it & the Remington.

Fox Creek, there you go. You've nailed it down. It's WANT. Need has nothing at all to do with it. Just think how much that adds to our life. I sure thank USFA for making all those great guns, that I WANT. Also Taylor arms for making that fine delux short rifle. I want, want, want.

Need is a funny thing, isn't it?  You NEED some relaxation and "play" in your life to be a successful human bean, but you DON"T need expensive toys to do it with.  Except guns.  Wink

Now, where's that lottery ticket ...

IF, IF, IF it gets passed to everyone's approval, I wouldn't expect to see any checks 'til September or so.

You are to kind . We have a better chance of USFA giving ALL NCOWS members a FREE Remington , compared to my Wife giving up a nickel of Her check . Maybe I can talk USFA into sending a Remington to the National Shoot for everyone to drool on .

My point is that not everyone will be getting checks.  There are stipulations and exclusions in the bill.  I do hope that those millions that do get checks spend them fast to get this economy back on track.

Yep, that'll fix everything wrong with the economy, all right.  Roll Eyes  Wink

You're right, Don - not everyone will be getting a check.  And it'll be quite a bit less than what is needed to buy one of those USFA beauties, anyway.  $600 will buy the AMMO for it, for a while!  Grin

Speaking as one of those folks who may NOT get one of those checks, I'd LOVE to spend the money to get one of the 1875s!

And the NMA.

And the Forehand & Wadsworth.

And the 1873 Winchester.

And I would love to have one of those slick 1910 semi-autos from USFA.

And - even 'tho NOT a rumored gun from USFA - the Merwin & Hulbert.

And ... since I'm dreamin' here, I'd pay extra for USFA to put my NCOWS number on ALL of 'em!  Wouldn't THAT be cool !?!

 Wink  Grin

We return you now to our regularly scheduled reality.  Wink

Rowdy, must correct you. John Wesley Hardin was a pistoleer. Clay Allison was a shootist. I read that Hardin would shoot a five shot group in a playing card, sign it and give it to people. Of course people would pay him for this. I thought that it would make a good side match for the National shoot.
Then there is Cut The Cards. While my wife and I were on our honeymoon(several years ago) we saw Joe Dakota cut a playing card into side ways with a single action revolver. He did it off a rest. You may remember Joe Dakota he was in a lot of John Wayne movies. That was pretty good but us NCOWS shootist can do it off hand. That will be another of the National side matches.
Yes I can do both, but at a lot less than 50 yards. How about 7 yards for the five shot group and 5 yards at the card edge ways.
So get ready if you want to be the Pistoleer or the King or Queen Card Cutter.  Wink TJ

While talking to a pard who came to our last GLFMC shoot, he said that USFA has now discontinued the NCOWS "Special" and while you can still order the same gun with custom serial #, it is now the regular price, NOT the special price for Members.

Anybody else know about that?

Best way to find out is call Gary Granger, but it sounds accurate to me Jeff.  I believe at the time the Special NCOWS revolver was being offered the prices were higher in general for USFA SAAs.  Since they lowered the prices they are working much closer to their cost factor now.  I know that Gary stated there will NOT be as big of a dealer discount for the guns since they have lowered the prices.  Therefore, the price they advertize on the website is probably alot closer to what you will have to pay than before they lowered the price.  Not sure this made sense to you, but it did as I was typing it.   Grin
