G'day
« on: October 20, 2006, 05:56:37 PM »
I've just joined the board. I am a Correctional Officer from Australia, in the process of being medically retired (way past use by date ;D ) and looking forward to doing a lot more cowboy and mil sup shooting, hunting, reloading and casting.

Currently shoot a Uberti 1866 clone which is about 40 years old and was owned by a friend who was a professional fisherman who worked in the northern territory and has shot numerous crocs and sharks with the old girl before moving to the snowy mountains and growing apples, where he used it to keep kangaroos, pigs and deer off his orchard. It had never fired at shot which wasn't at game when I got it, but it has seen a bit of metal poppin since. I have had some teething problems with it and it will be taken hunting when it cools down next year with BP against deer and pigs. Currently use a pair of 45 Ruger convertibles and am about to buy a pair of 45s in vaqueros or similar or may just pick up an old 44 vaq to match the one I have. Use a Boiti coach gun, but have just picked up a lively Urgethea (spelling?) which is as slick as frog snot, I can't wait to try it out.

Looking forward to stretching the truth and swapping yarns with you guys.

Mick
