Marlin Cowboy vs Cowboy II
« on: October 08, 2006, 12:46:42 PM »
I've read several of the posts here, have concluded that the Marlin '94' is the way to go.  I am curious, though, as to what the difference is between the Cowboy and the Cowboy II?

There are a bunch of MArlins to chose from, and I still haven't decided on a octogon or round barrel, or a true .38, or .357 shooting .38s.

Which ever, it will likely be one of the 20" models.  Thanks for considering the fist part this post and responding.

Basically the first model has a checkered stock, the second doesn't if I remember correctly.  Personally I like the Marlin without the checking.  Also I believe Marlin has done away with the 24 inch barrel and all the new guns have 20 inch barrels.  That said, my personal choice is either a Uberti 66 or 73....   ;D
