Books on Butch & Sundance
« on: August 23, 2006, 02:51:43 AM »
I think that I have finally found the time period that I want to portray and my guns will match it to a tee!

Anybody got an idea of what the definitve book or books on Butch & Sundance is? I've always felt they were the "classiest" of all the outlaws, and would like to learn more about them.

I borrowed this one from Delmonico but have not read it, yet. He should be able to tell you if it is any good.

Slim,
I am currently in the middle of that one. Covers a whole lot of how the hide outs were dicovered. Brown's Hole, Robbers' Roost and Hole In the Wall are 3 different locations. I did not know that until I started reading this book.

It also covers the early starts of Butch. It has been very intersting and informative so far. Alot if the information comes from the writer interviewing locals that had first hand knowledge of the area and characters.

Pretty good read so far.

Sure ya did, pard! Ya replied to my post.  ;D
Shoot, the thing has been up on two other forums till I figured out it needed to be here. Give that book a read, I think you'll enjoy it. Make sure you read the Introduction and stuff, to kinda set it all up. Heck, I'm actually learning something out of it!
Thanks, Slim! :)

I was going to start reading it a few days ago, but I decided on reading a Custer book first.

Just finished "Digging Up Butch & Sundance" by Ann Meadows. Good read, but some parts get to be too much of a travel guide for Argentina and Boliva. But she is just trying project the landscape to give the reader more feel of the environment.

It will effect what you believe about Butch & Sundance.
