'97 clone...end of story
« on: August 18, 2006, 04:58:28 PM »
here's my last entry on the norinco winchester model 1897 trenchgun:
1. the norinco '97 cannot be imported into the usa anymore. got one? keep it.
2. bending the barrel worked from moving the poa from 6"down and 3" left...see the prior messages.
3. i took the shround/bayonet rig off completely...if you don't want to do this maybe loosening up the mounting screws and shifting the front bead from side to side can improve poa. removing it definitely improved the swing of the barrel when shooting: this is a point and shoot gun. i got a barrel and magazine tube clamp (comes with a swivel) from delta panther for $17 (includes s&h). now looks like a model 97. this is needed to stabilize the magazine tube.
4. using field grade loads (used for tactical shoots at clay bird targets and turkey shoots) i blew the center out of the target at 25 feet.
5. rack that forearm hard to clear spent shells.
good luck, geo.
