Tomorrow going to look at campers and living quaters horse trailers. I'm trying to make up my mind which I would prefer, towing the bumper pull trailer I have now and getting a camper for the truck or getting the LQ horse trailer. I'm just looking right now, gonna have to save my pennies for awhile unless someone makes me a deal.

Sunday going to go to the range and try out some loads for the shotgun.

Last weekend we went to a mounted shoot. My trusty steed still in training shows improvement every time and I am very pleased with him. I had 1 miss all weekend  Grin

Sunday off to a shoot at Dakota Dan's club, and he always puts on a good one, and this time some stages will include big cal lever guns eg: 38-55/45-70 etc so should be a lot of fun. Cheesy Cheesy

Hey WJ, congratulations to your Mum and Dad and please pass that on to them from TT & LN. Smiley Smiley

Hey Scarlet, The horse trailer with LQ sounds the go but I suppose the Dollars and cents do make the difference, so join the club Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

How old is your horse and did you get him already broken in, I  mean for mounted shooting and sounds like he is settling in at that okay??

See ya ........TT. Wink Wink

Hey T.T.

Buddy is 9. We've had him 3 yrs. and he was broke to ride and a great trail horse, but had no idea what he was getting himself into when he came to live with us. The lady we got him from is great but I suspect somewhere in his life he'd been mistreated. So our first obstical was trust. To see him today nobody would ever know and when I think about how far he's come I am very proud of him.

He is settling in great to the mounted shooting, we are taking it very slowly. He likes to go and be with the activities, charming folks out of their bottled water and treats along the way.

Besides saving my $ for the trailer I have a short bed truck (6.5 vs the Cool and I'm told the shorter bed cuts down on the manuverablilty of the Living Quaters trailer. But they are really nice. I'm also told that the LQ even with a 8 foot bed truck has more difficulty going places than a camper bumper pull trailer combo. I have a great bumper pull now but my husband and I are in discussion of what would last longer and be more sturdy..he's siding for the horse trailer. I've been talking to my pards who have them...most of which drive longer bed trucks.  Undecided  So I'm considering everything I find out.

I was in TX last yr for the Houston Rodeo and they had a LQ trailer on display. Leather interior, cowboy decor...beautiful! The price $100,000.  Shocked  No I'm no looking at anything near that but if somebody wants to buy it for me I'll upgrade my truck  Grin The whole rig going down the rode would probably be as long as an 18 wheeler.  Cheesy

Firstly yep a great day at Dakota's range and the big rifle stages are great fun Dakota, thanks for a top day and a nice lunch as well. Smiley Smiley

Hope the day for the folks went well Wallaby Smiley Smiley

Hi Scarlet, Buddy sounds like a great horse and seems he is a lucky one as well finding himself in a real good home.
Mmmm probably the more I think about it the Flatbed Camper and a tow trailer would be the way to go as you still have accomodation even when you are at say a normal shoot/holiday deal and can still pull a horse trailer when needed.
I can't understand people misstreating animals, I was involved in the Greyhound Racing thing for quite a time and I was at a mates place with greayhounds last Saturday, and he has one that seems to have been misstreated while away being broken in and boy is he a spooky dog.
It took me a long time to gain even a little bit of trust by this dog then I turned my back on him and he was off and back in his kennell.   I don't think my mate will ever get him right as you only have 2/3 years of racing life with them , but we'll see.
Good luck with Buddy Smiley Smiley

Regards.......Texas Tall. Wink Wink

Some tidy up jobs around the house on Saturday, easy day Sunday then going to a BBQ on Sunday night. Smiley Smiley
We have had a series on National TV called OPERATUNITY and was for budding opera singers to get selected to have a stint with the 'Aust. Opera Company' and though I'm no opera buff it has been very good.
Laura Norder's old boss is hosting a BBQ for the finalists and we have been invited so should be a fun night.
His home overlooks Sydney Harbour and has a spectacular view. Smiley Smiley

Last night I made rat cupcakes.... Shocked  I know I know some of ya are thinkin' well if she wasn't out horse trailer shopping the poor girl wouldn't have to make cupcakes from rats  Wink

It's not like that t'all....It's coming up on one of my favorite holidays. We have a potluck at work and I found this receipe (bet they don't have it on cosies) for rat cupcakes.

You take a plastic rat and form tinfoil around it...remove plastic rat and fill foil with batter. Bake then add eyes..I used cinnamin candy (red eyes) and licorice for tail..the receipe called for filling it with red icing...I'm not big on biteing into a glob of icing so I made vinalla pudding and added red food dye...got a big syringe and needle and pumped the rat full of pudding...what a tasty discussting looking treat  Grin  I have deceided I need a bigger rat form though. LOL..
