Dakota - they are for concealed carry.

I'm in.  Hubby is teaching the classes with the Wabaunsee County sheriff AND they are using our land/range for qualifying (practical application) SO...I get the class...FREE.  ;D

I'm going to take it this Sunday.
Of course we will have to wait until January before we have the permit in hand... but at least the course will be over and done with. :)

I am taking the course tomorrow down in Parker.  Marshal'ette's right.  At least the course will be over with.  Personally, I don't have grand intentions of actually carrying, but I am supporting the law.

Last weekend, I went out and put a box of ammo in the head of a Q target with my Glock 22.  I reckon I will pass the shooting part.

Well,

I certainly am glad the class is over.  It was LONG, but there was some good information.  I noticed my Glock didn't pattern as well as it did last weekend.  Seems as though the ol' Glock doesn't love American ammunition as much as it did the stuff I had last week.

What does the Kansas class consist of?
There may still be some changes before it's etched in stone but the third draft of the regulations here in Nebraska called for 12 hours of classroom and 4 hours of range time.   ::)

12 HOURS!  Wow, and I thought 8 hours including qualifying sounded bad!  There is a 100 questions test!   :o

I'm taking the class on Saturday.

Chantilly,

The guys that certified me said that there was a test bank of 100 questions in which they chose 25 from.  So, there was a 25 question multiple choice test.

George,

The cost ranges between $100 - $150.  Depending on who gives it and where they are.  The course was 8 hours including shooting 25 rounds to qualify with on an FBI "Q" target.

WHEW!  I can probably handle 25 questions on a Saturday!  The target shooting sounds pretty E-Z...no problem for a Cowboy Action Shooter!

CCW Course is being scheduled at the Newton homestead - I-70 & Highway 99, Alma - range for qualifying same location.  The first class is full but next available dates are Saturday August 26 and Saturday September 16.  PM if you're wanting to sign up!  Cost is $100 for the course and lunch provided.  Course taught by approved Instructors - Wabaunsee County Sheriff and Shoot'n Newton.
