Nice! you got all fancy with it, when we had to do it we've drilled a deep hole in the end of a post and pried on the barrel with it in the post. You're way is better to tell how much you have moved it.

Thanks a Cliff..........yup, there are many ways to skin a hog. Including slamming the barrel against the front tire of your truck or on an old phone book. I just wanted something a bit more controlled.

I've "adjusted" more than one musket or fuzee barrel by flexing it in the forks of a tree, or between the cab and box on a pickup. I like the way your system seems to be a little more controlled and repeatable, but on the other hand, your way requires actual forethought, and remembering to take the jig to the range . . . not sure how well that would work out for me!
