I don't know if this vitally important issue has been addressed so I thought that I'd start a new topic. In my rebuild of my reloading room I've added some more places to hang my hats so I thought that this might be interesting. Now all 12 of mine have a place to hang out.
Just how many CAS and GAF hats do you have? Do you have any original collectables? As our interests evolve, our outfits/uniforms change and you've just gotta get another hat. Have you ever gotten a new hat because you've bought new leather, a gun or guns?
I've got 12 that I swap out, most are DI style, a British Zulu style pith helmet, my Indiana Jones fedora and a couple of nice cowboy hats. I'll post some photos later, my room faces east so the suns in the wrong place for decent photos.

Only 6, but 5 of them are copies of the hat Lee Van Cleef wore in "For A Few Dollars More". Loading the car one day on the way to a match, I laid my hat down inside the house. Came back in two minutes later and the hat was gone ???. Discovered one of my Great Danes had decided to make it a early morning snack! He only had time to take one bite out of the brim. I was able to trim back the brim and salvage the hat. Gee, its been about 5 years since I bought a new hat--maybe its time.

Nine, plus two homburgs, two mountain man hats, and tam o' shanter, three good fedoras, a trilby, a Vietnam era "boonie hat", a real French beret, and a watch cap.
Oh yeah, and a cheap straw hat that I wear for working in the yard.
And three veteran's baseball caps

I know how you feel. My best friends boxer ate the brim off of my dad's original Yellow Cab cap. I still have his badge though.

5 at the moment. My favorite from Dirty Billy's (in my pic), a D Bar J, 2 straws, and one wool felt. This week I'm expecting a new "favorite". A new D Bar J "shag" 100% rabbit, in the same shape as the one in my pic. Supposed to ship tomorrow...

One more today: a 1941 black Resistol marked 5X and in a size 7 7/8. I'll get it cleaned up and have it steamed back into shape and wear it. Heavy, weighs about a half a ton. I'll probably save it for winter.

Guess I missed this the first time around. 9 CAS hats: 2 Palm, 5 black, 2 light colored. Looking for another light colored hat now, preferably something similar to the Boss of the Plains that Major 2 just showed.

I picked up two more a few weeks ago at Comancheria Days as a member who can't shoot any more was selling out. Both are Beaver Brand, one says 3x and the other says Texas Jacks. Both have a some moth damage, but I only paid $15 each. The gray hat had no band at all, so I added a band I picked up for $10 although I will probably switch it to some old cavalry cords I have. I reshaped that one with a flipped up front to replace my old Eddy Brothers hat, which has had the leather lining totally rotted away and covered with masking tape on the inside. I wore the gray to a match last week.

I looked at those, but I have too big of a head (7 1/2 - 7 5/8 depending on my haircut.)
-
I can't say I have any hats for the very specific use of CAS. When I started CAS I just kept wearing the same old hats I already had since I've been wearing western hats my whole life. I have reshaped some to fit my CAS persona but then I've reshaped many of my hats over the years anyway on a whim when I decided I wanted a different look.

Not sure how this can be but simultaneously Too Many and Too Few
