New guy here with modest collection of Civil War artifacts and weapons.
I just joined SSS in effort to learn more about the Model 1860 Spencer Repeating Rifle recently procured - SN: 41243.
Mainly interested in serial number information related to timing of Spencer Carbines issued to Federals during the Civil War.
Got a Model 1859 Sharps few years back and was lucky to find the records documenting Civil War use.
Hoping for the same with this Spencer....so if there is anyone out there willing to share knowledge about when Spencer Rifle serial numbers were issued to Federal troopers in Civil War hoping to hear from you on this message board.
