Will a Brownell's barrel mounted peep sight like #579-000-163WB be a legal rear sight for SASS competition especially for Cody/Dixon?
It replaces the buck horn or other style rear open sight.

Not legal for SASS competition.  Cody/Dixon is not a SASS category or event.  It is a side match or special category a few shoots put on so the rules would be whatever the Match Director says they are.

I have one on my 1859 .54 caliber Sharps shooting it in the single shot, lever, action, percussion category, if you can imagine that
