Got lucky and sourced a Montana Vintage Arms Soule Sight with mounting screws for my 1876. It was second hand but unused, came with three eye pieces too. It lines up perfectly with the rear sight. The rear sight is set for 25 yards, so it won't be in the way for longer ranges. It did require a shim, but that's okay, I've never been that lucky, haven't mounted one yet that didn't need it. Admittedly the sights capabilities exceed that of the rifle, though a long range "launch" could be entertaining. I previously installed a "Marbles" Semi-Buck Horn" with the white diamond but it was too fuzzy with my eyesight. I'm pretty sure I won't need any additional accessories. There are 73 rounds loaded to the gills (75gr.) with "Old Eynsford" waiting for their turn. I had already sighted in at 25 yards and the black powder loads were tight and touching in the bulls eye, the white powder on the other hand was laughingly dismal. That's the fun of experimenting until a favorite load is discovered. The 75gr. load requires .4 compression, that's a pretty stout compression. Perhaps 70gr. would be worth a try. I forgot my tripod so no fps data could be recorded. I'll post targets after my next test trial. Also I've been exercising the trigger and it's down to 5 1/2 lbs. Could be worse, I have some of those too.

Those are very nice sights. I have them on a couple of my rifles.
