Shawna passed away peacefully at Banner Hospice in Phoenix after a really gallant battle with an invisible enemy.
She is to be cremated with a token amount of ashes going to our two kids and the rest to be buried between her parents in Utah.
After nearly 51 years of marriage and over 51 being her lover and friend I find that I just don't know to be alone. I don't remember how it felt nor how it works. I guess it's time for an old man and a young dog work it out together.
Thanks to everyone who contributed a prayer, a thought, good wishes, or other support for us both. Your caring will never be adequately repaid.
Now a word of advice: if you or a loved one or an acquaintance has any symptom of an illness, NO MATTER HOW SLIGHT, get to a doctor. My loving wife would have survived if we had caught it a week or two earlier... and the signs were there. We just missed them.

My Dear 40
I grieve for you.
I thank God you have a young dog, who will help.
Please reach out to any of us and/or the shooters in AZ.
God is with you, Shawna is with Him.

I'm so sorry my friend, and yes I agree with you, had I listen to my wife in 2007 when she said she was OK I would have lost her also, I called 911 and told the EMT's she might object.
You have my number buddy, call me anytime you need to.

My condolences. It is sad when a death seems avoidable, but we can't change the past. Pass on whatever lessons there are and continue on. You have been busy, and there must be lots to do yet, but we misised you and hope you continue to contribute your wisdom and humor to your pards.

I simply can't imagine... I'm praying for you.

For ROD & Shawna,,,
We are pilgrims on a journey through, the darkness of the night
We are bound for other places crossing to the other side,
And JESUS will be there to greet me, he'll place his hand in mine
And i'll no more be a stranger, crossing to the other side.
So sorry !
Hootmix.
