Title: Christmas Day ....
Post by: PJ Hardtack on December 25, 2015, 05:36:47 PM
So, how did you spend your Christmas day?

It was a balmy -12*C here today, light snow fall and NO wind. That means it's a good day to ski. I simply walk out the door, step into my x-country skis and I'm off. The lake is so big that doing the whole circumference would take half a day. I generally do a 5 km out and back, hard and fast.
Biggest problem is getting and keeping your hands warm, even with gloves within mitts. I keep forgetting to put a hand warmer in each mitt, but pain has a way of teaching the lesson.

After a full turkey dinner with my wife last night, we are going out to friends for another. If I didn't burn up the calories with x-country skiing, I'd be packing on the pounds. I love my wife's fruit cake and home made short bread, but I really have to limit my intake.

It was a pretty warm Christmas day here, near 60(F). After we had our Christmas dinner(actually, more of a Christmas lunch) I did some shooting, worked on a car a little, and cut a little firewood.

Was a warm day here, as well.  A lot warmer then what I am use to.
Went shopping as a lot of stores were opened and I figured, they would not be busy.
I bake a ham and the rest of the fixens, and enjoyed a nice dinner with my girlfriend.
Really didn't do much of anything, was a good day.

My Good PJ , netizens -

I trust my missive finds you all safe and in good health &etc.

We had a completely uncharacteristic Blizzard in NM, were snowed in for Christmas, boxing day, day after, and today.
It was so bad They closed I-40 from ABQ to the Texas border.

Since both myself and SWMBO came down with "a bug" we didn't care, and we lounged about watching Dr Who and Mythbuster
marathons whilst passing the Kleenex box and tag-teaming the food prep.

A simple but delightful dinner of Roast Turkey, baked Sweet Potato, asperagus, and misc finger veggies was enjoyed Christmas evening.
Leftovers carry us forward.....

Since I have the week off from the day job we are simply taking it easy, "the bug" laid low any plans of useful activities.  I am Finally getting the 2 stage snow blower out to clean off the 3 ft of snow from the driveway in anticipation of the next blizzard which they say is coming around the end of the week.
