Hi pards,
I'm in the market for a 30-30 to use for the SASS side matches, leveraction MS and possibly a bit of hunting. I want to be able to scope it as well.
I want to buy new as there isn't much in the 2nd hand market here in Australia.
So if buying new what would you choose - Rossi Rio Grande, Remlin 336, Win 94 AE, Mossberg 464?
Cheers,

Guess I misunderstood the topic title. Thought you were asking permission & was going to give you the big thumbs up.
Can't offer an educated answer. Don't own any of those & the only one I've handled is the 94. Wouldn't be afraid of any of em, wouldn't recommend he 94 unless you find on of the angle-eject variety, since you plan to mount a scope.

I just bought a Marlin 336SS (stainless steel) in 30-30. It is a great shooter and will be my deer hunting rifle from here on out. Very attractive looking gun. I get compliments on it every time I go out to the range. I did however take it apart and polished it with mothers mag. Shined her right up and polished the metal on metal in the action and it helped smooth it up. I am wanting to now purchase a Uberti 1873 Winchester rifle in a 44/40. Oh also, I handled a Henry 30-30 in brass and that is a nice rifle too. The action smoothness is the same as my Marlin but it is a bit higher on price. Good luck! :)

Stay away from the Mossberg !
Its Junk.
The Rossi is just a Unrefined Marlin 336 , just neededs some smoothing out.
Remlins are OK now.
I would personally look at the Henry in Brass 30/30 .
Damned nice looking rifle IMHO
Just sayin

If I might add - Since you are in Oz, Do not order out a new one sight unseen.
If at all possible go and examine whatever you choose firsthand in a store!
If it is not in the store, and you have to order it out you may be stuck with whatever the store is sent.
I have read of other CAS shooters doing so and getting stuck with a POS ...
good luck on your endevour!
