Musical Medicine
« on: December 31, 2017, 05:28:13 PM »
Been fighting the Mother of All Colds for the past week or so. Part of it was a series blinding headaches every few seconds for a few days. Couldn't sleep and could only hold my head in my hands.

My wife put our satellite music capability to good use and one of the first pieces was instantly recognizable to me: Vivaldi's Concerto in D Major, the 2nd movement. Calmed me and allowed me to get some rest.

If you saw "The Cowboys" with John Wayne, you'll recognize it. I cannot put into words the emotions this piece generates within me. It speaks of great pathos, sorrow and yet it overcomes these negatives with great peace and tranquility.
"I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do these things to others and I require the same from them."  John Wayne
