For the advanced Spencer collector there is a Spencer ammo box on Ebay right now. Hang on to your wallet !   Jw

RARE!  Original Civil War MILITARY Spencer ammo crate!  WOW!

First one of these I have seen in over 30 years…100% right, wartime, and with original maker tag from Crittenden & Tibbals Manufacturing Company, South Coventry, Connecticut.  Outside of box is likewise stenciled to indicate Rifle Caliber No. 56 which is the 56-50 Spencer cartridge. Also stenciled FROM FRANKFORD ARSENAL, PA. This is the real deal and a MUST for any advanced collection, especially if you have a few Spencer Rifles and Carbines already—far more rare than the multi tube cartridge box or even the guns.  Measures approximately 12” x 17.5” x 8” overall. Originally held 1008 cartridges.

To assisting in locating it, here's the link.

If only it had free shipping, I'd go for it, but... Wink

Not that bad when you consider a full box of 42 cd leet or C&T goes for around a $1000.
