I have a 1st Gen Colt in 41 Colt (1904) that has been totally blued. I have cleaned it up put it back together. Lockup is tight, original grips, good bore. I want to remove blue what chemicals would you use to clean it up? I have birchwood casey rust blue remover. Is that a good place to start? Just want a little input . Thanks

A friend over here in the UK placed his new Uberti 1858 Remington into his ultrasonic bath to clean it after a shoot. It came out with no trace of charcoal blue or case-colours left; it may work on a Colt.
Best regards.
