I've had good luck with Remington #11 caps with my colts, this covers from my Walkers to my 62 police and everything in between, with Tresso Nipples, but am about out.  I'll likely get more Remington's, but what is everybody else using?  The one downside to the Remmy's is my snail capper doesn't like them that well.  I can have them all rite side up and ready to go and in three loadings a bunch are upside down or sideways.  It's a Ted Cash snail capper.  On the other hand, when it's working it sure makes capping faster and easier.

Thought?

The classic C&B setup is Treso nipple and Remington #10s.  The Remington 10s and 11s have the same ID.  The difference is the 10 haas a longer skirt that goes further up the sides of the nipple so it gives the effect of a slightly smaller cap.

I'll have to see if I can get a tin of #10's, if they work maybe they'd stop the imitation of tipping in my capper.

PILING ON!!

PLUS ONE to Pettifogger.  I have found, been tools, had it explained and read about it, THE optimum cap for our guns is the Remington #10.  For all the reasons Pettifogger mentioned.  Since I gave up those silly Suppository Shooters and switched to Real Guns, I have had nothing but superb results with Remington #10.  I use two Ted Cash Snails (I always want extra Caps).  Once in a while I have a Cap go catiwumpus when I do something ..... dumb.  Normal is for the Caps to stay perfectly oriented.

Remington #11 have been problematic when ever I try to use them.  I only use #11s for function check on the back porch.

Good to know.  I'll have to try a tin before ordering another bulk batch.  So far, with the exception of my snail capper, I've had excellent results with the #11s.  If the 10's work as well or better, and stay upright in the capper then it's good times.

To add even more redundancy, the #10s are a little longer i.e. taller and should stay more upright in the snail. I have found that several of my straight line cappers have trouble with them dragging in the  chute because the are longer than most caps.

If it's pile on time;  I won't use anything but #10 Remingtons.

No. 10 Remington caps are hard to get locally here. Where are all of you buying them?

Most all the Big Box stores carry Remming #10s.  Ship em to your door.  HazMatt fee, but I order them in bulk.  Many thousands at a time.

PS:  Many other BP specialty shops will also ship in bulk.

Basically what I do, I order them from a friend that is a dealer, a thousand at a time.  I'll contact and see if I can get a tin of #10's and see how it works out.

Another +1.  I use nothing but Remington #10's.  I use them with both Treso and Slix Shot nipples on my Colt's and ROA's.

I have the best luck finding them at Gamaliel's (www.gamaliel.com) and order them 5,000 at a time.  Stock is erratic, so you have to order a bunch when you find them!
