So the $45 US spent by my kids about 12 years ago on a copy of the real book for my Christmas present was wasted?

P.S; I was hoping I could find a pdf version of The Webley Story (Shown for thousands by online booksellers!) No dice, but I did find a copy for $80, but the binding has been poorly repaired with fibreglass reinforced tape. Beggers can't be choosers, I have heard!

I wouldn't say that Sir Charles. First you have the book in hand, can thumb to any chapter/page at will. Personally, I hate having to read a magazine or book using a pdf or what ever format on a screen, scrolling through a mired of other pages trying to find what I want either forwards or backwards. Why I haven't bothered to obtain or read any books by Kindle or listen to them via any electronic means. Second, at $45 dollars, the book has doubled, tripled its value since you've received it twelve years ago. And third, you've been enriched and informed for the last twelve years of all the information in the book while some of the rest of us are just being enlightened and informed. I'd count yourself blessed!!! I only read it on pdf previously because I had no further access to it. Wish I had known about it back when I got interested in conversions.

Thanks Crow. My copy, once new, has a damaged spine from over use, so I saved a link to the Pdf. And I did order the damaged copy of The Webley Story. I will fit right in with my damaged copy of Pollard, and Greener's The Gun.

AWESOME!  Thanks.  I had sold my copy when I got out of Cowboy shooting 4 years ago.  I checked Amazon, and they are over $100 used.  I did pick up a pretty good one, though "Metallic Cartridge Conversions" by Dennis Alder. I got an excellent used hard cover for $36. with free shipping.  Not as good as McDowells, but very good.  Some interesting Remington conversions in the Alder book.

I like Adler's books. Have been very informed by them. I did get the book of Adler's 'Metallic Cartridge Conversions' sometime before McDowell's and was very well educated where I had been ignorant on the subject before. McDowell's just covered and filled in all the spaces that Adler didn't include. Adler's book 'Colt Single Actions: From Paterson's to Peacemakers" is an excellent book on Colts.

For those of you who would like to have a book in your hands to look at.  I obtained mine from the public library,  The original loan was
for 2 weeks and I could have extended that by notifying the library I believe.  They did not have it in stock but got it on loan from
Columbus library I believe.

The $53.00 I paid on Ebay was for The Study of The Colt Cartrigh Conversions, not Adlers box.

Coffinmaker,

Going to see surgeon Tue. to see if he says I am healed up enough to do therapy.  I am going to need it, lost a lot of strength and
endurance.  If doctor allows me to drive I will drive to Tusco to say hi to everyone.  No more biscuts and gravy for me anymore.
Heart attacks are not for the faint of heart. Pun intended!  Nor is quadruple bypass!
