After several years of pursuit, I have finally scored a PIONEER Hammer Double.  Not only is it a Pioneer, it's a two barrel set.  One set of fitted coach barrels and a second set of fitted 24 inch barrels.  UBER KOOL!!  Heavy.  Think .. Truck.  Incredibly well made.  Like Swiss Watch.  Big, heavy Swiss Watch.  Can't wait for the weather to warm up enough to get out and shoot it.  Oh, almost forgot, each set of fitted barrels has a dedicated Fore End and Fore End Hanger.  It locks up like the preverbal BANK VAULT!!  Guten Tight .. yepper.

Gar See Us A Lot Uss Major 2.

I didn't realize my vise handle was inna way when I did the first picture.  Can see how much Yuger the Pioneer is.  Enormous.  Not totally sure I like it.  Big .. Swings slow .. Heavy .. Swings slow .. Front heavy .. Swings slow.  I don't know if I mentioned it swings slow??  Lot of build to get moving then hard to stop.

Anyway, pictures show it's bulk.  Big gun.  Could double as an 8 gauge.

Is the other piece a Husky? Underlever?

I use a 16 ga. m51 top lever for CAS. I have several underlevers but I figure they would be slower as I either have to use two hands or let the barrels drop after I swing the lever.

Sir Charles,

No, the "little" gun is a Husqvarna M50 top lever 12ga.  Almost looks like a toy next to the Pioneer.  I did however, just finish chopping and channeling a really neat M20 under-lever 16ga for my shooting partner.  The Husky's are neat guns.  Main Springs like truck springs, not fast but really nice guns.

Major too; How do you manipulate the reloading process on the underlever.

BTW; The underlever system goes back top the mid-1830's, and the Huskies themselves back to 1877 with a Lefauxcheux licence.

Sir Charles,

That's actually the 16Ga Under-Lever I just set up for a friend.  Actually shooting it is somewhat ....... involved.  Shove the lever over with the "off" hand and the gun breaks, get the hulls out, put fresh hulls in, close up the barrels (the lever comes part-way closed), grab the lever and pull it shut, use both thumbs to cock the hammers, take a moment to congratulate yourself on a successful reload, then shoot.
Repeat as required.

Shooting the under-lever ain't real ........ quick.  It is however, some KOOL.  You spend the whole day, answering "what the heck is dat???"  Followed immediately by "how does dat ting woik???"

PS:  Many thanks to da Major 2 for posting my pix.
