I've acquired two old Remington doubles - one hammered and one hamerless.  I have a TTN that has been dead reliable, but much prefer the Remington's.  I shoot them all with brass hulls, 65 grains of FFg and 1-1/8 ounce of shot.

They're a hoot!  ;D

Savage, Stevens and Fox 311s are good values.  Vault tough and reliable.  Yes, they do need some work to make them stay open far enough to get shells in and out.  I have one each in 20ga, 16ga and 12ga.  I'd have one in 10ga if they ever made one.  All my 311s did need work to allow them to open and stay open.  Chamber polishing is a plus.  Since they are no longer made, you'll have to look for a used one.

Best luck.

I must admit .. to being deeply in lust with the prospect of a Uber Kool 10Ga coach gun for CAS.  I "was" well and truly deep into the "seek" mission.  Was hunting everywhere for a way KOOL double 10Ga.  Then ...... Then ..... I priced All Brass 10Ga Hulls.

My infatuation with a 10Ga coach gun has ...... dissipated.  I found the cost of feeding and watering a 10Ga Coach to be ... prohibitive.
I'll just stick with my 12s.

I picked up at a fairly good price a Pioneer SXS made in Poland by Radom Arsenal.
Outside hammer, Greener lockup and built to take the punishment.
Heavy weight, but I took it out of the box, wiped off the grease and started shooting it.
Beautiful trigger pull both triggers exactly the same with the chambers polished so the shells just drop in or out.
Unfortunately, they are no longer imported but it is the Jaguar XKSS of the shot gun world.
And no it ain’t for sale or trade…sorry.

Bunk,

Entirely TRUE.  The Pioneer Hammer Double is /was the Bee's Kneez.  Unfortunately, the Polish manufactured was awarded a much more lucrative military contract.  Unfortunately, I was unable to score one while they were still on the market.

Do you have an alarm system??  Large Dog(s)??  Big, heavy doors with big locks??  Cookies and Milk by the back door??

PS:  I might throw in my First Born.  Or even my laser disc collection??
