Afternoon all.

We hit 105 here today.  Undecided  The valley is forecast for 110+ last time I checked.  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Did end up going fishing last night, though.  Interesting story about that.  We were using some new rubber worms, trying to catch a couple bass, and I got a hit.  The fish got off and took my bait, so we kept casting there for a while, then decided to move to a different part of the pond.  We got there and on the third cast my younger brother catches one.  We get it in the boat, and as I'm pulling the hook out of his mouth, he coughed up my worm.   Roll Eyes

The wife is now on her way back from Milwaukee, but will have to brave 110 in Phoenix before heading on to our balmy 95.  She probably won’t even work up a sweat, as the layover is only 50 minutes.  On second thought you can work up a sweat running between gates!

We're on our way back home, stopped in Hutchinson Ks again. Was only in the low 90's as we travelled, so maybe some of the heat wave has moved on through while we were gone(or maybe wishful thinking).

Back home! No problems with car, weather was mostly great. Picked up some sweet corn and some rib eye's when we went through town, cooking now. Garden prospered while we were gone, I guess it must have rained at least once while we were gone. Picked about 10 gallons of cucumbers, so I'll be making pickles tomorrow, as well as mowing the grass jungle. And pick and can beans, if they're dry enough to pick tomorrow, it showered just before we got home. Don't have to be at work until Saturday.

Good morning all.

Oatmeal up for those so inclined, with left over bacon as a side.

Up at 0530 today, though that doesn't mean I'm happy about it.  I'm starting to get up that early to train myself for when I have to get up early in another time zone.  However, neither the family nor the canine understand what it means to be quiet before 10:30. Roll Eyes

PE, we usually don't have any, but my mother bought four pounds this month to use a pound each week for sandwiches and potato soup, but it got put in the back of the freezer, and then she told me to cook it all last night.  Roll Eyes

In other news, My backside is reminding me that it has been a while since I sat upon a saddle.  Went out to do some riding before I leave.  But, even with the semi-bruised buttocks it was more enjoyable than the alternative: washing dishes.  Roll Eyes

Afternoon all.

Per my cellular device, it is 87 in town.  Per my porch thermometer, it is 100.  I'm inclined to agree with the porch.

Canned 11 quarts of beans, there's more out there, but it rained about 2pm, just when I was going out to pick. There were a lot that got too mature while we were gone, so had to shell some, would have been a lot more otherwise. Will deal with the cucumbers this evening.
