"Scots wha' hae wi' Wallace bled ...."
« on: January 23, 2016, 02:53:57 PM »
It's that time of year again when all Scots and wannabe-Scots don their Highland finery and hie themselves to the nearest Burns Supper night.

The local Legion branch here puts on a fine dinner with roast beast, neeps , carrots, smashed tats and of course, HAGGIS!

Following the feast there will be Highland lassies dancing, singing, and the PIPES, aye, the Pipes and Drums.

Wi' murd'ring pattle!

My ears were ringing following the Burns Supper. I had a great seat to watch the dancers and the Pipe Band; close enough to touch them. There was a world class Piper there that was spectacular.

Glavya, Drambuie and all kinds of Scotch Whisky flowed like water, but alas, I've been sober nigh on 30 years and could only watch. Just as well. 'T'was a time I could indulge, but that is now a closed door. The world and I are better for it .... ;>)

Thanks, Bruce.

The money and trouble I've saved myself and others has been worth it. I can still get myself into deep doo-doo sober, but it was a LOT easier back when .....
