Buffalo arms .44 Henry Centerfire
« on: August 26, 2015, 08:36:55 PM »
What type of gun would use this now? or is it made just for the original guns? OR is someone rich enough to reload thousands of rounds of the and convert a henry replica or 66 winchester replica into this cartridge? I'm just curious and this seems to be the best place to put this, if not. i am sorry. http://www.buffaloarms.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=157290 http://www.buffaloarms.com/44_Henry_Center_Fire_Reloading_Brass_it-157291.aspx?TERM=.44%20henry

What are you talking about?  A link, photo or something that describes what you are talking about would be useful.

Maybe I missed it, I just went on Buffalo Arms website and didn't find .44 Henry ammunition anywhere.

Since they have no photos or dimensions posted it is hard to figure what they are selling.  The Winchester 66 used the same cartridge as the Henry.  Towards the end of 66 production Winchester took the round and made it into a centerfire so there are 66s in centerfire.  No modern guns are chambered for the cartridge.  Not sure what Buffalo Arms is selling.

Kenny Howell made a mere handful of replica Colt '72 Open Tops and this is brass for them. It is made from .41 Mag. brass.

I'll have to say, though, if Uberti started making replica Henrys and '66s in 44 Henry CF, I'd be sorely tempted.

They could make them more easily to fit existing cases such as .44 Colt which with real powder approximates the original load pretty nicely.
