Cowboy Rimfire Shooting
I’m thinking about trying a new twist on Cowboy Action Shooting. Instead of shooting the course of fire with the traditional big-bore single action handguns and lever action rifles, it will be shot with .22 rimfire cowboy guns.
Scoring will be done by means of a combination of time and accuracy. The overall time from start to finish plus 15 seconds added for every “miss”. I feel that will make the shooter a little more conscious about hitting all targets.
Targets shouldn’t be a problem as there are any number of metal “gong” target more than suitable for rimfire shooting . They have swingers, cowbells, and different silhouette targets all for under $75 each. I have even seen them at Wally-World.

Could make it easier to stage matches indoors where big-bore ranges aren't available. Not sure what you'd do for scatterguns. Maybe use .22 rf shotloads? Even light .410 loads might be too powerful for indoor ranges.
Ride to the sound of the guns, but watch out for bushwhackers! Godspeed to all in harm's way in the defense of Freedom! God Bless America!

Availability of 22LR ammo might be a problem.

22 Rimfire is available. The price is still high and I have the feeling it will stay that way.
