Need help with 1860 screws

Years ago I picked up a pretty beat up old Hawes 1860 Army that has resided in a shadow box display table until recently. Wife got rid of the table to I decided to make the gun a restoration project. I've reblued it and done some other restoration and its looking pretty good. The screws are in sorry shape though and look like the previous owner(s) used a jackhammer on them. Replacement parts for Hawes appear to be nonexistent since they've been OOB for quite some time. I already had a set of Uberti 1860 screws, but they are not the right sizes. Anyone have any experience with the Hawes or know what other manufacturers screws might fit by chance? Are Pietta screws different than Uberti? Just don't want to order some and find out they are wrong if I can help it. Thanks

They will be next to impossible to find. You can "rehabilitate' them however:

Yeah, not having much luck at all. I have thought about rehabbing them. Most could probably be cleaned up pretty good, one or two are pretty buggered up, but I'm sure they would still look a lot better than they do now.

Just a thought, try giving the people at VTI a call. When ever I cant find parts, if they don't have them they are always real helpful pointing me in the right direction to find them. Good luck, W. L.

Hawes guns were made by Armi San Paolo/Euroarms. Should be a DGG in a circle under the barrel. S&S Firearms may have what you need. http://www.ssfirearms.com/products.asp?cat=111

Pietta screws are also different from Uberti.
