Just picked-up another Winchester Model 1876 . Yr. of manufacture is 1882 Cal. 45/60 wcf 24" octagon barrel, button mag. straight grip , plain trigger std. sporting front and semi buckhorn rear. The story from the previous owners was , the old 76 was a family members rifle and has been silent for many years . The first thing I did upon receiving the old rifle was to give it a good inspection then dismantle it down to bare bones. The overall condition is a very sound rifle that shows very little use and appears to not have been shot much. The bore is very good and should be an accurate shooter. The outside finish on the metal has turned into a brown plum color with no pitting ,and the walnut stocks show very good with original varnish. Once the old rifle is re-assembled I will take some photographs and post them here. Overall a very Cool 76,,,,,,DT
