Bentonville 150th
« on: March 03, 2015, 03:23:34 PM »
Bentonville 150th will be here in about 2 and a half weeks. As it stands now our company will consist of over 40 men mostly armed with Henry rifles and some Spencers. I know that most here are in to live fire shooting and not reenacting but that many Henry rifles together is impressive. Bentonville and Selma will be that last of the big 150th reenactment battles. I don't think I will be around for the 175ths. I was at Bentonville for the 125th and now looking forward to the 150th.  8)

I would love to go back there.  Last time I was there was 1985, and only had a few hours to look around (the buddy I was with was not as dedicated as I was, and it was his truck).  Don't suppose you could postpone it until calving is done in MT? ;)

Am I correct that the park has been expanded in the last 20 years?

I am not sure if the battlefield park has expanded or not. Less than 2 weeks and Bentonville here we come. Our company is now at 47 men.

;D Oh boy... too good to miss this one.
You reckon he'll shoot it as good as he did the Spencer ???
Sorry, just couldn't pass that one up.   I am hoping you'll post some stuff from the re-enactment.  The kids up here sure enjoyed the stuff you posted from Franklin.  Good luck and have fun ;)

I stopped at Petersburg National Battlefield Park on the way out.

Oh, and Mini Abe went along to visit the troops.

I ended up as the regimental adjutant for the event. 37 Henry rifles, 3-4 Spencers and a few other infantry rifles. It was an unbelievable fun time.
