Just joined. I got into the old west guns 2 years ago. I have a 1858 and a 1875 Remmington. Also a 1874 Sharps long Range.
My friend wants me to get into cowboy action shooting with him . Of course this means having to buy more guns and other stuff.
I am researching my next purchase which will be a pistol caliber lever action. I was thinking of  a uberti 1873 sporting model with the 24 in barrel. Some products are hard to get up here though.

Welcome to the forum from another Canuck.  Drop in to CHINOOK COUNTRY and introduce yourself.

You can start in cas with a mis-matched set of firearms, but they seem to breed.  I have had a great time as I love firearms and history, and our sport is a great combination of both features.

Welcome, and Good Shooting, Pard.

Hi! I just signed up to this site, I'm originally from Mississauga (west of Toronto), but now I live in San Mateo, CA, eh.

So in theory, I'm also saying hi from Ontariio (sort of!).

How hard is it to own handguns in Ontario? In California, it's a pain in the butt, but you don't have to be a member of any club and the RCMP doesn't come over to your house!

You have to get your restricted firearms licence which is is a written and practical test. Usually you would take the 2 day course.
You can then buy a handgun but cannot take it out of your house. You have to join a range, take another course and then you can get your ATT (Transport permit) which allows you to go back and forth from your home and to the range only.
