Rick
Never, NEVER put out an EMPTY hat. Didn't yer moma teach ya anythin about panhandlin??? Put down an epty hat and folks will just nacherly think ya got hot and dropped yer hat. Ya puts a little money in there. And some think you puts out what ya expect to get. Put down pocket change and you will get pocket change, put out foldin money, and get folding money. (but others think if ya put out too much money, ya wont get much cuz they figger ya already got enough...
anyways don't put out no empty hat.
and next year come on down. there are plenty of places to sit and rest yer legs.

Very cool gallery CC! Mind if I ask ya what your Shootin with? I ain't referrin to your guns pard, but your Camera!
You and I seem to have a little in common CC. Were both into Cowboy shootin, and Shootin pics, and we both play Guitar as well. Well I used to play till I got arthritis in my wrist and fingers. Hurts to bad to play any more. That's when I took up learnin photography. I aint quite as deep into that as you are but it is fun! I miss my guitars. I like my Canon though!

Yes we do appear to have a bit in common.
to answer yer questions, I too am mostly lookin at my guitars..I have in my testerone room a Takamine 12 string, a 1970's Yamaki, 1980's Sigma (Martins poor man) and a Carlo Rossi classical. Hidden in the guest room are a couple more.
Before the digital stuff I shot only Minolta, and still have 3 35mm cameras, lens etc. Also have full darkroom setup with 2 enlargers that I pretty much never use.
As for shootin matches and events like Fair I use a Nikon CoolPIx that has 10x optical zoom and 6mp, it slips into my vest pocket. Then I also use at times a Canon Powershot S3IS also with 10x optical zoom. My main camera is a Canon EOS SLR. The 70-300 tele lens I have for it actually will zoom less than the 10x on the PowerShot. I also have an old 4x5 View Camera a friend gave me (I took pro. photography in college and spent a semester using the view camera. Fun but bulky.
I have a fuill array of studio lights that I can carry anywhere to do portrait work. Now ask me how much money I make from it. Tomorrow I am shooting Mary Kay ladies.....for tips!
So what do you use and wish you were using.Show us some of your pix some time. (email me one of your favorite shots, and I will print it and put it on my "friends foto wall".
As you see I will not get bored in retirement. I just enjoy life way too much.
good shootin
