With a 13-day auction - and the condition it's in - it'll surpass the asking price.

That's the problem with a gun 'auction'.

A piece like this might sit on a table or in a shop for quite some time before anyone shows any real interest - but put it in an 'auction' environment, and from an 'Old West' location, and prices will skyrocket because of the added cachet of usage on the Frontier.

Nice piece.

I don't see that as a problem. I like antiques! Those who want them have to pay a premium for them!
That would be news for who ever owns it.
