howdy pards
ok i just started one of the many cell cases ive got to do and started carving my design and bout half way threw i see a black finger print on the leather and i dont understand why its the be for i even strated working with this piece id washed my hand real well to avoid and dirty marks now here i am with this spot and dont know if the piece can be save HELP

If you handled something steel, it could have done that. I'd just dye it black with vinegaroon to make the whole thing the same. Or put more fingerprints on it for another look.

Acetone will often remove stains like this but do the whole thing evenly to keep from just spreading the stain around.

Oxalic Acid. This will remove any black spots that came from your fingers or iron filings. It is used as a wood bleach. You may be able to get it at a hardware store, I got mine at our local drug store that is no longer in business, don't know if the "big" drug stores carry something like that. I think Hadlock and Fox also carries it. Mine is in crystal form, I just mix about a teaspoon full in a plastic butter tub. I apply with a wool dauber.Be sure to wash your hands well after handling.
