Do any of you have the Belt Mountain #5 style base pin installed in your Old Model Vaquero?

Don't have one in the OMV's, but I did install a different one in my SBH, and I'm pretty sure it was a BM brand...not sure what the #5 style is...

The Keith Style #5 base pin has an hourglass shape.

I ordered the BM pins the same day I picked up my first pair of OMVs.  I never installed them.  Didn't see any need to.   Undecided

Not the #5   but I do have the Colt style in mine.     One slipped right in and the other was a pain in the neck.   # days with crocus cloth and two sore wrists.    I also had to shorten the ejector spring to get the full effect they were designed for.......

Some shorten their base pins.  Grin I have done it to my personal 4.6" & 5.5" K-Bisley Vaqueros.  But it make them hard er to remove when stripping.

On Calamity JoAnne's pair of 7.5" OM K-Vaqueros, I installed the longer ejectory housings & ejector pins.  And they looked really good (almost like they grew there).  So I never shortened her base pins.  But I only made that mod because I already had a pair of them assemblies on hand.  They came off'n some 10.5" K-Super Blackies.
