Several years back I purchased a Navy Arms Scholfield with my wife present during the purchase, in fact she insisted that I purchase the gun.  Well, we took it out to shoot and I gave it to her to shoot after I put about 12 rounds down range and as it happend, that was the last 12 rounds I put down range on that gun.  My wife shot the remainder of the 250 .45 Colt handloads and has no given it back to me since.  This weekend at the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA I stopped by the Taylor's and Co. table and since they are in Winchester, VA, they can sell to Virginia residents directly.  Scanning the table I noticed they had a nice 5" Scholfied in 45 Colt at a super price NIB, so I thought about it for about 2 seconds and purchased it!  My wife approved, but said she liked this one better especially the more authentic hammer and told me she I could have my old one back.  Oh well, atleast I have one Schofield to myself now! Grin  Also, another nice thing about Taylor's is they will work on almost any Uberti product even if they didn't sell it to you, just as long as you pay the gunsmith of course.  My Navy Arms Schofield has some indexing problems that they said they would be happy to try to fix.  They seem like great folks and I hope to drive up to see them sometime soon to do business with them and drop off my Navy Arms Schofield.

Taylors is tops. Next gun I need that Taylors stock, I'm gonna just drive up and see'em in person. I bet they would let a person look at the gun before you bought is,,,ya know,,,see if the wood suits ya, inspect it cosmetically...

If there are better folks to deal with in these types of guns, I haven't found'em.

Three cheers for Taylors and Co.

I second that and they did indeed let me "pick" the gun I wanted.  Let me know when you are going up to Winchester as I might be able to meet you up there....that would be cool!

I've been doing Business with Tammy & Sue for 25 years or so... Visited them a few times too....
Took a friend in once...he wanted a Remington Carbine ..they were happy to show him every one they had ( seem like about 6 at the time )
He chose not to buy one after all,  Roll Eyes  I kinda mumbled something  Lips Sealed
Tammy was not put off, said "that's OK come back anytime"....We did about 3 days later,Tammy drag the Remy's out again, he passed again, but this time though he bought a Sharps  Grin

Initially I was going to see if they had a replica Winchester '92 in .45 Colt at the show.  Since they didn't and I had money burning a hole in my pocker and I wanted my own Schofield, I went for it.  They were very nice folks to me and I will buy from them again. Smiley

Same experience here.  Last year I drove over to Winchester and picked through the Uberti 1876 winchester rifles.  I picked out a beauty in .50-95.  Great folks Grin

I am getting a 'Codymatic' Model 73 'Winchester' that is actually from Taylor's through Cody Conagher ... should be in the FFL sometime next week ... and I am on pins and needles

Something that is going to make it even better is that he 'calibrated' it so that I can use .45 Schofield in both my Schofields and the Model 73 .... no more .45 LC and carrying two types of ammo!

By the way, I had bought a set of checkered pistol grips for a Schofield when I got a great deal on a pair of used Schofields that already had stag grips on them.

So, if you need a pair of unused Buffalo Brothers checkered grips for about $30 less than retail, let me know ....

Even though I mostly deal with EMF, my main match gunz are a pair of engraved Taylors, with ivory grips from Boone Traders. I shoot them about once a month and they have done fine.

Okay, since we are showing pics....

I don't know how to put a pic in ths area, but here are my Schofields ...

The previous owner had added the custom grips and replaced the front blade sight with one of solid brass .... then opened up the rear sight a little wider .... so that all one has to do is put the brass underneath hte target and make sure that the brass is aligned and centered in the rear sight.

I love these guns!
