What do most gunsmiths do to "slick up" Rugers that buying a spring kit doesn't do?

Which 'you' can do yourself, with a couple of good stones and the spring kit - which can be purchased easily from Brownell's or Midway - and patience.
Don't change any factory angles and polish/burnish away any high spots or roughness that you see.
You don't need to do the entire works - just the high spots...
Clean the weapon thoroughly, lube properly, reassemble and try.

I see why one would pay a gunsmith. I'd be afraid of taking off too much and the gun not working.

That's where 'patience' comes in handy - as well as the not changing of factory angles...
All you're dealing with are the high spots - nothing more.
You 'can' polish everything you see - but to no good purpose, unless there are bearing points involved.

Speaking of spring kits, are the hammer and trigger springs interchangeable on the Old and New model Vaqueros? Brownell's offers a kit with 14lb hammer spring and 30 or 40 oz trigger springs. Midway offers kits with heavier hammer springs. I was wondering if these kits are specific to the model.
