Bob,Is the Fiebings oil dye easier to control than their spirit dye?
Django
Fiebing's Oil Dye is also an alcohol-based dye with oil in it for better coverage. The oil helps the color push
deeper in the leather and makes the alcohol evaporate slower. Correct me if I´m wrong anybody

Thanks Bob, i am still having trouble with Fiebings spirit dye soaking into the work to quickly, i case the work before wet wiping or quick dipping the piece but before i get a chance to wipe off the excess it goes in too quickly and i get a much darker and streaky effect than i wanted .
Does the oil dye give more time to wipe the excess off to acheive a more uniform finish all over the work?
Do you dip or wipe the product?
Thanks

I wipe with a cotton "stick". But I do it on dry leather and that
works well for me.

I was asked to build a holster to snap into a purse made to carry a gun. The existing holster was for a slim auto, but this gal carries a snub nose revolver. This was the first use of my 10 dollar thrift store food sealer. Thanks to holster maker Boddy Rose for sharing this idea during a holster class he offered at the Portland Tandy.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the support. Given the restrictions (square back with fixed snaps, distance down into the purse, wanting the gun to sit lower than the original gun) it was fun to make. Most people will never see the holster, which is fine!
KT, that's a great looking 1911 holster!

Really nice Bob, and yes, you sure do need a Maker's Stamp!
One thought about those tall boots, which I assume you are talking about. Often times they look cool, but are not very comfortable to wear. I would ask about for recomendations for ones that have some comfort as well as style.
