Griz,
As you already know, I did email Boone and he came in and signed up.  I'm glad to have him aboard.  He's been a good friend for many years and knows the '76 Winchester inside and out.  I like this forum.

Adios,
Buck

PS,  I know they're not ready yet but I sure would like to have one of those decoder rings.

Thanks, Buck.  I agree, Boone, is very knowledgable about the 1876, and I am sure glad to have him on board.  I also know a fella named Buck who ain't no stranger to the model himself! Wink

Those dang decoder rings are all being bought up by a guy named Dick Tracy!  We might just have to consider something else! Smiley

Welcome Quirt Reno.  Glad to have you aboard.

You will find a number of folks here who have the original 1876.  When you get a chance, contact member Buck Stinson.  Buck is compiling information of surviving originals. Smiley

Griz,
Sign me up.  I have a Cimarron/Uberti 1876 in 45-60 and it is a fine piece of workmanship.  And it is super accurate with my reloads.

Picked mine up yesterday.

Chaparral .45-60 x 26".  Looks good, functions fine.  Lever safety gizzie is gonna wear me out if I don't lighten the spring.

I have 20 rounds of smokeless coming from a friend and dies were just ordered so I can get BP loads.

Pictures and report later.

Howdy Folks!
I ordered mine from Cimarron Firearms via Sports World on Wednesday. They said I should get it next week. I ordered it in .45-60 thinking that I could easily cut down .45-70 brass if I had to. Then I started looking around the internet to order loaded ammunition. Great Scott! that ammo is expensive. I'm thinking I should have ordered .45-75 or .45-90 because I have found it cheaper and components seem to be more readily available. I have not been able to find any reloading data for smokeless powder. Anyway I'm looking forward to getting the rifle, working up some loads and hunting with it next deer season in the Osage.
