Just an early announcement for those of you who need to put in for time off by the first of the year. Next year's Grand Muster will be held October 3-5 At Fort Hartsuff Nebraska.

Housing will be available in the restored 1875 enlisted man's barracks but is limited to the first 40 registrants. If there are any ladies who would like to stay at Fort Hartsuff we may be able to put them up in the hospital or the laundress quarters. There is also limited primative camping at the range sight. Be sure to bring your wives even if they don't want to stay at the fort. We plan to have a period "hop" folowing the banquet Saturday evening.

Delmonico is once again slated to provide the meals.

The "Battle Rifle" class is highly encouraged (but not required) as pistol caliber rounds tend to peter out at the range that at least one shot will be attempted.

This will be a unique shoot with stages based on little known and obscure plains Indian War Period fights. At this point I'm not sure about side matches but I expect have at least  a wild buntch stage as a side match.

I plan to be available to give a guided tour of Fort Hartsuff sometime during the weekend and to make time for participants to tour the fort on their own.

Sounds good to me.  The farther the date is from July-August the better chance I have that I won't be called to remain in the area to brief Congress, the Secretary of the Navy, etc.

Glad to hear it General! We scheduled it that way just for you Wink

Actually the further away from the tourist season the better everyone will like it at the fort, both from the park staff, and from the GAF perspectives.

Glad to hear you're going to try and come too Kid. I look forward to shooting with you again. Will you be shooting a real man's cartridge; like say, oh maybe a .50-70 or something like that next year?  Wink Grin Grin

What is the entry fee and where do I send it in order to reserve a place in the barracks? Grin

Entry Fees have yet to be determined, but will probably be about the same as the Dept. of the MO shoot last spring. We may have to charge slightly more though, as Delmonico will be feeding us more meals. Registration will most likely be sent to me, but let's not get in a hurry for that just yet. Rest assured though, I'll make sure you have a bed in the barracks John.

Pitspitr,

I would truely like to shoot a so called "Man's Cartriage".  But I would hate to break someone elses targets when I hit them. Grin Grin Grin  Besides with the way I buy guns ya never know what I'll have next year.  I did find a mini replica firing cannon for sale on the net.  Would that be big enough for ya.
