Hello, Bill. As I wander off the original thread...the Manistee NF north of White Cloud. Now you're talking where I grew up and wandered the woods. Grew up and spent the first 22 years of my life on a 100 acre farm 6 miles NE of White Cloud, surrounded by the MNF. From a very young age I was allowed to roam and wander, as long as my dog Spike was with me. We may very well have walked the same ground and fished the same streams. I still live in the vicinity. Take care.
Hardscrabble....My family are registered members of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa/Chippewa Indians of Michigan...My Father was born in a little town in Leelanau County named Maple Grove.....I've hunted a lot of the area south of there so its quite possible that we've ventured into the same areas.

Judge.....
Yes it is a beautiful area of the state....The nice thing about joining our new posse is you have access to the 20 acres and you can drop down into the state forest and you're in some of the finest deer and turkey hunting you can find in the mid-west. My invitation is open if you ever get over here...

Oohhh ... that sort of country is O.K. ... I guess ... though all those trees would sure block the view ...
and
keep one from enjoying the full benefit of the warm summer sun and cooling winter breezes.
On the other hand, the location of my club's range has none of those obvious disadvantages ....
Seriously, Bill ... that is indeed an absolutely
gorgeous
location!
(By the way, are you attending the GAF Muster this year? If so, I look forward to meeting you
in person .....)

Rattlesnake.....
It depends....my son and I have a scheduled Elk hunt in Montana staring the third weekend of October so we'll both be gearing up for that. If, I can talk my wife into coming to the GAF we may make it.......

Bill where abouts in south central Indiana is the range located?
I've been hoping a Posse would start up local to me. Could you e-mail the particulars when you have time.
Thanks.

John.....
Our new posse will be shooting on the Thunder Creek Longrifles range that is located eight miles east of Martinsville Indiana ....The fourth Saturday of month.
e-mail me your address and I'll send you some information.
If you're interested, we are going to meet at the McDonald's in Martinsville on Saturday the 25th of this month at 11:00am, then we'll take (convoy) everyone over to the range from there. Where are you located?
