I thought I'd post this to help some of you first timers in understanding the World Cup format a little better.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to add them to this thread and I'm sure that either I or someone else will answer them for you.

WC07 INFORMATION LETTER

Welcome to the 2007 Western 3 Gun World Cup. This letter of information should answer most if not all of your questions. Please read it carefully.
You will need approximately 120 rifle rounds, 120 pistol rounds, and 75 shotgun, plus rounds for the pot shoots and the Sunday shoot off. Pot shoots will be held on Thursday, August 9th. The main match will be shot on Friday and Saturday the 10th and 11th with the shoot-off and awards on Sunday, the 12th.

The match will be shot in a Pro/Am format. The Open class will pay a higher entry fee and will shoot for cash and prizes. Everyone in the Open class will receive a prize with a value in excess of $100 and be eligible to shoot in the Sunday shoot-off. The Amateur class will pay a reduced entry fee and shoot for awards only (trophies).
The match will be limited to 250 shooters. We will have 15 shooters per posse in order to facilitate getting the shooters through the match in a timely fashion.
The match will be scored in a “Total Time” plus bonus’s format.
All bonus targets must go down in order to be counted. If the center bonus section falls due a perimeter hit, the bonus will NOT be counted.

The reactionary centers have been calibrated to fall with the following loads:

.32 cal 115 gr bullet doing 850 fps.
.38 cal 125 gr bullet doing 750 fps.
.45 cal 165 gr bullet doing 650 fps.

Competitors will be allowed to test their ammunition on the targets before the match begins.
Any disputes may be brought to the attention of the match directors, however their decision is final. Safety penalties or Safety disqualifications are a judgment call and are Non Disputable.
The WC07 match is a “no alibi” match. Once the timer starts, you own the stage. Finish it the best way you can.
This is not a DQ forward match.

Dry camping will be available, and directions to the range are on the Deadwood Boys web site located at www.deadwoodboys.org
