I had a late 70's Yellowboy SRC  in 38 , with the oil finish stocks you mention.
Great shooter never a bit of trouble from it in 9 years , I wish I still had it  Lips Sealed

I have a old Yellowboy  and cannot find a code anywhere on the gun. I took off the butt stock and there are on letters or numbers anywhere. All I can find is the serial #61159 and three proof marks and cat. #1570 behind the trigger under the lever. Can anyone help?
Thanks

Have heard that sometimes the date code is under the forend.  More hassle to check there, of course.  I have an Uberti s/n 72xxx that was made in '97, so based on your s/n I would guess mid-90s.  Who imported the gun?  You can often call that company and they can tell you.
