I am just getting into SASS and am only doing it because of this show. Wish the Outdoor Channel would reconsider and put this show back on…..one of the only shows I actually watched on television.

I really enjoy shooting my new Ruger Vaquero. I had mine tricked out so it fit better in my hand and the hammer is lower but to SASS’s regulations. I’m planning on using this gun for mounted shooting as well as ground target.

For those that might be scared off by the holster price, you might want to do a simply search for a mare’s laig holster. There are several sources for them, both foreign and domestic made.. and starting around $80.00USD. Be sure to consider quality VS price before buying though.

The Mare’s Laig holster has been around for a while, longer than the Rossi, Henry, and even Diamond Jim Mare’s Laig pistols. They where actually made for the non-fireing replicas and for the Marushin “Randal Custom” 6mm airsoft gun.

While the Mare’s Laig isn’t SASS “legal” I still intend to get one. And considering the price and having spoken to some of those that have bought them, I will almost certainly get a Rossi.

I got into SASS through the show. I’m really sorry to see it go. Heck… even re-runs would be better than nothing. My Wed nights aren’t the same without that as my anchor show. Although I do like the others… Shooting Gallery, Best Defense, Shooting USA… Cowboys was what I waited for the most. At least put the re-runs on in a late time slot where I can DVR them and watch them later… please!!!
